Jan 19, 2018, Great news!!!
The Save the old NAS Pasco Control Tower non-profit is so thankful that the Washington State Legislature has awarded a grant of $300,000 dollars to support the next phase of the non-profit’s continuing efforts to create a showcase museum facility honoring veterans and the aviation history of the Tri-Cities region.
We are especially grateful to State Senator Sharon Brown for her tireless efforts in assisting throughout the process. The grant will help provide much needed capital to continue the restoration work on the historic control tower building to become the Pasco Aviation Museum.
Just a few short years ago a handful of aviation and history enthusiasts recognized the need to save the historic 1942 Naval Air Station Pasco Control Tower building and volunteered their time, sweat and sometimes blood to get this fantastic project under way. We have been very blessed to have community members who from day one have donated dollars, artifacts, photos, personal stories, and even aircraft to this effort. Many have first-hand experience with the importance of preserving our community’s aviation history, because they have relatives who served at NAS Pasco, or in some cases served themselves and ultimately made this area their home.
Our mission is to preserve aviation history, educate the community about the value and the contributions aviation made in our region and ensure the future of the landmark control tower. With the continued support of our community and Washington State we will achieve our mission.
“Preserving history for future generations, sharing aviation with all generations, honoring the Greatest Generation”
